Students in second grade write out stories and create multimedia projects in conjunction with classroom activities and assignments. Basic graphics and text are included as students are exposed to numerous software programs that help to create and reinforce problem solving skills in a variety of curricular areas.

For this project, the students wrote about their favorite thing in second grade.

The second graders studied clouds for a science unit. For this activity, the girls created Hyperstudio stacks in which they wrote about the different types of clouds. They then visited a website where they searched for images of clouds.

In this Hyperstudio stack the girls worked on Halloween number stories. For the last card they had to make up their own story.

For their volcano science unit, the second graders drew and labeled volcanoes.They had to create text boxes and use the line tool to label the volcano.

After the girls created exploding volcanoes in the classroom, they made flip-card animated volcanoes on the computer.

The second graders created a timeline of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life.
