It is hard to believe, but the fall semester is already nearly one third of the way behind us! As we look ahead, there are a number of terrific opportunities to build community and foster our Convent & Stuart Hall spirit. We hope to see you soon.
Celebrate Spring 2009 - Hooray For Hollywood!
CS 09 Chairs Thanks to our wonderful Celebrate Spring 2009 Co-Chairs Jackie Avila, Jane Côte-Cook, Ingrid Coolins, and Melissa Vanderlaan for getting us started off so nicely! We had a terrific kick-off breakfast this morning to ring in the events surrounding our schools' signature fundraiser, and to welcome all of our wonderful Committee Chairs and volunteers to the fun. Our Chairs certainly got into the spirit of the Old Hollywood theme. We look forward to a fabulous weekend of events in March, when we come together as a community to Celebrate Spring!
Wine Tasting & Sale - Wednesday,
October 8 on Broadway
wineThere will be a fabulous array of wines available for tasting and purchase on Wednesday, October 8, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Flood Mansion. Proceeds from the Wine Sale will support Celebrate Spring 2009.

Link here to RSVP and for more information about the evening.

We look forward to seeing you at the Wine Tasting & Sale on October 8!
Golf & Tennis Classic Friday, October 17
GT08Plan to come out Fore the Love of the Game!  You may link here to RSVP.

And you don't need to participate in the day's play to enjoy the evening festivities, which include a dinner and Live and Silent Auctions. We have some truly exciting items ready for your bid! The Live Auction offerings boast a night with the Material Girl herself - four tickets to the Madonna concert on Saturday, November 1 at the Oracle Arena; a "Day on the Bay" afternoon sail, graciously donated by the Flynn and Avila families; and a delicious dinner at Betelnut restaurant for you and your friends. The Silent and Live Auctions will be held at the post-play festivities at the Harding Park Clubhouse that evening; do not miss out on the fun! If you have an item to contribute to our Auctions, please download a donor form here.

Event co-Chairs Scotty Bastable (scotty.bastable@gmail.com) and Erik Hom (erikhom@aol.com) would love to hear from those who would like to help out with the event. We look forward to seeing you on the greens of Harding Park and the courts of the Olympic Club on October 17!
Light Blue Arrow SFMTA Meeting - Tonight, September 24, on Broadway
Tonight, there will be an informational meeting led by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) to discuss traffic calming issues on west Broadway. It will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m., in the Flood Mansion. Please link here for a message from our Director of Schools about this meeting. We welcome you to attend.
eScrip Needs Your Safeway Back to School Receipts!
cardsSafeway's "Back-to-School" shopping promotion has ended - and it's redemption time. Please help us ensure that Schools of the Sacred Heart receives your 10 percent rebate! If you are already registered with eScrip, your purchases will automatically be credited to our school's account.

Even if you are NOT registered with eScrip, there are two ways our schools can earn:
1) Email us your Safeway Club Card number (note: NOT your phone number); or
2) Note the "Back-to-School" redemption code at the bottom of all Safeway receipts through October 6.  Return any one of these receipts to the Broadway Front Desk (Attn: eScrip) or email the code to us and our schools can claim your rebate.

If you haven't yet registered for eScrip or SchoolPop, it only takes 3 minutes to ensure our schools get credit for all your shopping. Remember our school codes:
Schools of the Sacred Heart/118427082 (www.eScrip.com); Schools of the Sacred Heart/124093 (www.schoolpop.com).

Contact Kathy Russell (kurso@post.harvard.edu) with any questions.
Seconds To Go - This Week's Treasures
Our schools' resale shop is chock-full of terrific finds these days! Some of the great items available right now include: a Ferragamo purse and vintage Ferragamo boots; several Yves Saint Laurent pieces, including a sweater, shoes, and belt; and a number of other collectible fashion-forward finds.

Please remember our resale shop as you thin your closets of outgrown Halloween costumes. And look out for our spook-tacular window display, coming just in time for All Hallows' Eve!

Thank you to the generous donors who have replenished our Seconds To Go stock. We rely solely on contributions from our community of household goods and items of clothing; without you, we would be unable to support the Convent & Stuart Hall scholarship fund. Our deepest appreciation for your support of Seconds To Go.

Come on down, to shop, save, and support Schools of the Sacred Heart!
