Congratulations to our graduating seniors! |
They have worked hard and
all are now ready to head for college. The graduation ceremonies will
take place at th e end of this week - Convent of the Sacred Heart High
School on Friday afternoon and Stuart Hall High School on Saturday. A
complete listing of college destinations will be included in the next
Bulletin, which will be mailed in August.
Special kudos to
Stuart Hall High School senior Corey Linehan. He was named a Jefferson
Award winner for making a significant difference in the San Francisco
community. Corey founded a non-profit organization he named NOCU - No
Child Left Unplugged - to help bridge the "digital divide" experienced
by elementary schools that have few resources. Thanks to NOCU, the
pilot program that was launched at Megan Furth Academy provided
computers, software and teachers to help their students stay current
with today's technology.
Last Sunday 's Chronicle ran an article on Corey and CBS 5 will feature him on the 6:00 pm news tonight as well as at noon tomorrow and Saturday morning. CBS will post the story on their website at www.cbs5.com/jeffersonawards.
This Friday,
Corey will also receive a 2008 Prudential Spirit of Community Award,
presented as part of a national recognition program which honors
outstanding youth volunteers. |
