Celebrate Spring 2008 - Calling all Bow Makers and Basket Wrappers!
|
We are having a Bow Making Party at Ruth Ann Seward's home, this Friday, February 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Our goal is to make 400 bows - come be a part of the fun! The Seward home is at 2730 Pierce Street, San Francisco, CA 94123. You may RSVP to rannseward@sbcglobal.net.
We also need all hands on deck to support our Basket Wrapping! The first Basket Wrap session will be held this Saturday, February 9, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the Flood Mansion Foyer. Wonderful wine, dinner, and music will be provided! Don't miss out on the good cheer and your chance to help out. You may RSVP to Monica Bickle at monica@horsleybridge.com.
The second Basket Wrap will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 16 and 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The third Basket Wrap will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 23 and 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. RSVP for all Basket Wrap activities to Monica Bickle at monica@horsleybridge.com.

Celebrate Spring - Online Volunteer Sign-up is Here! |
Preparations for Celebrate Spring 2008 are well underway, and we invite you to be a part of it! Now, for your convenience, you may sign up online for one of the many volunteer opportunities before, during, and after our weekend of events; this includes all event activities from February 8 through March 11.
Please go to www.celebratespring.org to sign up. Should you need to change your availability for a shift, please un-check the box next to your selected shift, and then click on the submit button. Please contact Nancy Weber with any questions at nmsweber@sbcglobal.net.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work with parent volunteers from our four schools to put together a fun-filled, exciting event for the enjoyment of entire community.

Parents' Association Volunteer Search Committee - Forms Due This Friday! |
The schools have established a Volunteer Search Committee in order to help better identify parents to fill the numerous leadership positions on the Parents' Association Board and Celebrate Spring for the 2008-2009 school year.
Please take a moment to fill out your form, indicating your interest in volunteering for a leadership position for the next school year.

Parents Needed for SHCOG Visit - Tuesday, February 12 |
The Parents' Association would like to invite any interested parents to participate in a discussion with the visiting Sacred Heart Commission on Goals (SHCOG) Committee next Tuesday, February 12 at 8:30 a.m. in the Columbus Room at Stuart Hall High School.
The Commission will be visiting with all constituents from the four schools to discuss our self-study, which was submitted to them last year. They have asked us to consider all five goals, as well as two questions directly related to the self-study.

Celebrate Spring Dollhouse-warming Party at Ferragamo - Tuesday, February 12 |
You are cordially invited to attend a Housewarming Party to meet the designers of the 2008 Designer Showcase in Miniature! This is your chance to preview our wonderful Dollhouse, always a fantastic draw to our exciting Live Auction at Celebrate Spring's Evening Gala.
The event will be held on the evening of Tuesday, February 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Salvatore Ferragamo Union Square. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit programs at Convent & Stuart Hall.

Simple Gifts Fashion Show - Thursday, February 14 |
Convent of the Sacred Heart High School invites you to the Simple Gifts Fashion Show, to be held next Thursday, February 14, in the Main Hall of the Flood Mansion. Cocktails are at 6:30 p.m., and the fashion show will commence at 7:00 p.m.
Fashions by Levi's, Cole Haan, St. John, and Convent senior Rachael Hurd will be featured on the runway.
Simple Gifts, a student-run community service program, is dedicated to raising funds and awareness and to making a meaningful difference in programs for women and children in San Francisco.

Miller's Mile '08 T-Shirt Design Contest - Calling All Convent & Stuart Hall Artistes! |
The 38th Annual Miller's Mile run will be held on Saturday, April 26 - which means it is now time for the T-Shirt Design Contest!
The contest is open to all Convent & Stuart Hall students. Original art and computer drawings are welcome. Artists may use markers, poster paints, and paper cutouts in their designs.
The deadline for the Contest is next Friday, February 15. Students may turn their entries in to their school's office.

A Presentation on Islam - Thursday, February 28 |
Stuart Hall High School Theology and Campus Ministry, in conjunction with the Parents' Association, the Islamic Society of San Francisco, and 20,000 Dialogues (an interfaith project of Unity Productions Foundation), will host a showing of "Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet" on Thursday, February 28, at 6:00 p.m. in Syufy Theatre. The film will run for two hours, followed by a discussion. We welcome parents, students, and friends. Convent & Stuart Hall High School students will be available for childcare. Raising Financially Responsible Children - Resources You Can Use |
Talia Pierliussi, an advisor with Stanford Investment Group, Inc., came to the Broadway campus to address our Convent & Stuart Hall parent community last week. She gave a talk entitled "Raising Financially Responsible Children," and we would like to share some of the highlights from her presentation, for those who are interested in additional resources in dealing with this timely issue.
