Speaker Series Welcomes Jim Steyer, Common Sense Media - October 24, 2007
JSJim Steyer, a nationally acclaimed children's advocate, will be on campus as the first lecturer in our 2007 Convent & Stuart Hall Speaker Series. His talk is entitled Educating our Kids in the New Digital World. Among the facts Jim will touch on: that more kids spend time with media (TV, Internet, video games, iPods) than with their parents or at school; that 96% of teens have used social networking sites; and that children see more than 40,000 commercials on TV each year.

Jim will offer you common sense tips on what to do to combat the influential images and messages your children are exposed to, information he has shared as a guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Today Show.

You may RSVP to rsvp@sacredsf.org. There will be childcare available upon request. Join us in welcoming Jim to our campus on Wednesday, October 24, at 5:30 p.m., in the Siboni Center, and be a part of this important conversation.
