Thanks to those of you who came out to make the Heart to Heart Social such a warm and wonderful event last week! The evening was a fine example of the Convent & Stuart Hall community putting the Sacred Heart mission into action.
There are many more fun and exciting events ahead, including a number of great speakers who are coming to campus. We also hope to see you all at Celebrate Spring on March 7 and 8. There are many volunteer opportunities coming in the weeks ahead to prepare for Convent & Stuart Hall's signature event. Please read below for more information.

Stuart Hall High School Presents NCAA Expert - TONIGHT, January 30 |
Attention all Convent & Stuart Hall High School student-athletes: USF Hall of Fame member Mary Hile-Nepfel is coming to address our community! Mary will speak to parents and students TONIGHT, January 30, at 7:30 p.m. at Stuart Hall High School. Admission is $10 at the door, and includes a catered dessert.
Mary will share her extensive experience as both a player and a coach at the college level. She will lead an in-depth discussion of the recruitment process. Mary will also address the pros, cons, and responsibilities of participating in university athletics.
Don't miss out on the chance to hear from an expert on the NCAA experience!

Celebrate Spring 2008 - Calling all volunteers!

We need your help as Celebrate Spring draws near! Join us and get in on all the excitement of preparing for this wonderful event.
Bow Making: We are having a Bow Making Party at Ruth Ann Seward's home on Friday, February 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Our goal is to make 400 bows! Come on out and enjoy the fun! The Seward home is at 2730 Pierce Street, San Francisco, CA 94123. You may RSVP to rannseward@sbcglobal.net.
Basket Wrapping: The first Basket Wrap session will be held on Saturday, February 9, beginning at 3:00 p.m., in the Flood Mansion Foyer. We need many hands to wrap these wonderful baskets! Wine, dinner and music will be provided! Please RSVP to Monica Bickle at monica@horsleybridge.com.
The second Basket Wrap will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 16 and 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The third Basket Wrap will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 23 and 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. RSVP to Monica Bickle at monica@horsleybridge.com.
Basket Donations: Basket donations may be dropped off at the Front Desk at the Broadway campus, or to 1911 Pine Street. Thank you to those who have already made a donation. We need many more, please keep them coming!

Parents' Association Volunteer Search Committee 2008-2009 |
Volunteering is a wonderful way to be a part of the Convent & Stuart Hall community. This year, the schools have established a Volunteer Search Committee in order to help better identify parents to fill the numerous leadership positions on the Parents' Association Board and Celebrate Spring for the 2008-2009 school year.
Volunteer Search forms were mailed last week. Please take a moment to fill in your interest in volunteering for a leadership position for the 2008-2009 school year. For your convenience, download a copy of the form here.

Director's Club Dinner - Next Thursday, February 7 |
On the evening of Thursday, February 7, the Director of Schools and the Board of Trustees will host a dinner honoring donors at the Director's Club level. The event next week will pay tribute to those wonderful friends of the schools who have supported the community so generously with leadership level gifts.

Simple Gifts Fashion Show - Thursday, February 14 |
Convent of the Sacred Heart High School cordially invites you to the Simple Gifts Fashion Show, to be held on Thursday, February 14, in the Main Hall of the Flood Mansion. A cocktail reception will start at 6:30 p.m., and the fashion show begins at 7:00 p.m.
Fashions by Levi's, PlumpJack Sport, St. John, Cole Haan, and Convent's own Rachael Hurd will be featured on the runway, among others.
Simple Gifts, a student run community service program, is dedicated to raising awareness and funds and to making a meaningful difference in programs for women and children in San Francisco.

Miller's Mile '08 T-Shirt Design Contest - Calling All Convent & Stuart Hall Artistes! |
The 38th Annual Miller's Mile run will be held on Saturday, April 26 - which means it is now time for the T-Shirt Design Contest!
The contest is open to all Convent & Stuart Hall students. Original art and computer drawings are welcome. Artists may use markers, poster paints, and paper cutouts in their designs.
The deadline for the Contest is Friday, February 15. Students may turn their entries in to their school's office.

Save the Date for a Presentation on Islam Thursday, February 28 |
|
Please save the date of Thursday, February 28, for a special presentation on Islam. Parents and students are invited to attend. There will be a showing of a film about the life of the Prophet Muhammad, followed by a discussion led by one of the co-founders of the Islamic Society of San Francisco and by a member of the UMA Interfaith Alliance.
More information will follow about this event in the coming weeks.

Seconds-to-Go welcomes your tax-deductible donations of gently used items. The schools' resale shop can always use some of the wonderful treasures you have been considering donating.
You may make donations year-round, at any time the store is open during the week. You may also schedule a pick-up from your home by calling Seconds-to-Go directly at 415-563-7806. And if you have time available, the store can always use volunteers to help out!
Come on down, to shop, save, and support the schools' scholarship fund!
