Celebrate Spring 2008 Wine Tasting and Sale - Thursday, October 11, 2007
wine2Come together with members and friends of the Convent & Stuart Hall community for a night of wonderful wine and good cheer at the Flood Mansion.

A delightful array of vintages will be available for tasting and purchase. Included in the selections are Nickel & Nickel, Bonfire Vineyard Zinfandel, some interesting options from New Zealand (Morton Estate's Pinot Noir), and our very own Husic Vineyard's Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Cheers and thanks to event co-chairs Erin Allen and Rosemarie Perkins for their tireless work in organizing the event. Invite friends and family along, and join us for a fun and festive evening.

Golf & Tennis Classic - October 19, 2007
G&T 07Come on out Fore the Love of the Game!

Our Golf and Tennis Classic will be held at Harding Park Golf Course and the Olympic Club. There will be some wonderful Live Auction items on offer, including Disney's High School Musical on Ice Tour for Thursday, October 18 (look for online bidding for this item only to begin next week!) This hugely popular musical will be even more spectacular with the dynamic first class skaters in the cast, and you can view it all from a private suite for 16 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. Or spend a day sailing on the Bay, including lunch at Sam's in Tiburon for 10.

Speaker Series: Jim Steyer, Media Expert - October 24, 2007 (5:30 p.m.)
Book coverEvery day our kids are bombarded by images from the media, and as result much learning of the adult world takes place through the influence of television, movies, music, the Internet, and computer games. Jim Steyer, author of The Other Parent: The Inside Story of the Media's Effect on Our Children, nationally acclaimed child advocate and media expert, will be on campus as a part of our Convent & Stuart Hall Speaker Series. Jim will be speaking about a "new media reality," and will offer guidance for understanding the influences that confront our children.

Jim has been featured on many television programs and is regularly tapped as an expert by publications such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, and Newsweek

There will be childcare available upon request. You may RSVP to rsvp@sacredsf.org. Join us in welcoming Jim on Wednesday, October 24 at 5:30 p.m., and be a part of this important discussion about children and the media.
